EW Gallery Widgets

These modern galleries and slideshows were created to include many of the options requested by EverWeb users. The grid galleries use the CSS Grid Layout Module for more control over the layout and better performance in the browser.
Although many of these widgets provide lazy loading, it should not be used as a substitute for properly sizing and preparing images before importing into EverWeb.
Too many oversized images are the main reason why web pages don't download fast enough.

Ew Gallery Info

This page introduces the galleries and describes some of the options for displaying images on a website.
It has a comparison table and description to help choose a gallery type.
There is info about preparing images for use on web pages and how to quickly batch process thumbnail images using Preview.app

Grid Gallery

This thumbnail grid has last loading and an optional "Load More" option. The thumbnail width and height can be specified and the grid item spacing adjusted.
There are options for animated captions and the lightbox slider has a custom user toolbar for adding share, download and fullscreen buttons.

Justified Gallery

This gallery creates a justified image grid from thumbnail images with varying aspect ratios. It should be noted that this is NOT lazy loading so is not really suitable for a huge number of images.
It has options for animated captions and to customise the user toolbar for adding share, download and fullscreen buttons.

Auto Gallery

This gallery has been designed for photographers who need to upload a large number of images for clients to choose from and identify from the file names which are displayed as captions.
The widget assets are required to be uploaded to a server where the thumbnails are auto generated so it is not suitable for use by those using EverWeb hosting.

Flickr Gallery

The gallery is populated from Flickr by entering a username and album ID. The gallery is lazy loading and is suitable for those who use EverWeb hosting and need to be able to display a large number of images without maxing out their server storage limit.
It has the same options as the other image galleries.

Art Grid

This grid uses the CSS Grid Layout Module to display random size images with the maximum amount of control and minimum code.
The grid captions can be multi line and the images can be configured as internal or external links and open in a new window if required

Art Gallery

This gallery has the same layout as the Art Grid and is designed for thumbnails and images of varying size and aspect ratio.
The lightbox slider is responsive up to the maximum size of the image file and has captions, a slide counter and directional arrows which can be replaced by swiping on touch devices.

Art Gallery Pro

This random size image grid with captions has a lightbox slideshow with comprehensive options for displaying images of artwork.
The slideshow captions can be styled and there are options for zoom, fullscreen, image download, slide counter, play/pause, progress, autoplay and a choice of 30 transitions.

Scroller

The scroller can hold up to 100 images of varying aspect ratio and has an option to lazy load them. The scroller is navigated using hotspots on computers and by swiping on touch devices.
There are options to add captions which can appear on hover on computers. There is an autoscroll on page load option too.

Auto Slider

An autoplay hero slider with an option to pause on hover. Loads smaller images for mobile devices and is very lightweight. The optional animated overlay can have a heading, text and a CTA style link that can open internal or external pages with a new window option.
There are controls for adjusting the slide and transition times.

Album

The widget creates and article element with a heading, text and optional link side by side with a figure element with image and caption. Clicking or tappimg the image opens a lightbox gallery.
The gallery has options for autoplay with optional progress bar, play/pause, captions, fullscreen, magnify, demagnify and return to original size. There is a large number of transition types to choose from.

3-In-1 Slider

This versatile slideshow can be set up with or without a thumbnail carousel or pager dots and has the option to open a lightbox slideshow by clicking any image. The slideshow and the lightbox both have options for image captions.
The images can be loaded in three sizes for thumbnail, image and lightbox image for better performance in the browser.

Fullscreen Gallery

The gallery grid has options for a full width thumbnail image at the start of the grid. There are options for thumbnail captions and to show a lightbox link icon.
The lightbox slideshow can be set to open in fullscreen when a thumbnail is clicked. The slider has captions and can be navigated vertically using, click, arrow keys or tap..
