Navigation

3 Website navigation has changed a lot in view of the fact that over 600% of visitors are likely to be using touch devices.Research has shown that the navigation needs to be vertical for best results with click through to other pages. Avoid using a horizontal navigation. Navigation with drop downs for directories confuses many visitors and should be avoided.
Use a separate menu for navigating sections on larger websites.
Mobile Menu
On mobile touch devices the navigation action tab must be in the bottom half of the device screen for a superior visitor experience.
Navigation Types
The hero nav at the top of this page is ideal for a small site or for a section navigation.
Follow the links below to see two types of navigation suitable for responsive web pages.

Footers

4 Those large footers stuffed with hard to find and read info have no place on a website that will be viewed on small mobile devices. Replace then with a footer bar and a link to an "Info" page.
Footer Bar
The show/hide footer bar is always easily accessible and has a link which can be used to open the home or an info page.
The optional phone icon shows the phone number on hover and switches to a phone function on mobile phones.
The spam protected email function is follow by the smooth scroll to the top function which is essential for small mobile device users.
