Animation

Active animation helps to draw attention to important items and can make a web page design more unique and memorable. The active items need to animate in a different way from the usual generic types.
The EverWeb ThemeKit Active widgets were custom design to be different from all the rest and also be suitable for resposive web pages.

    Be Wise

    Overuse of animations and making them appear from offscreen fast is one way to drive away over 20% of visitors who suffer from motion sickness.
    Animation in general should not be used on mobile phones since their effect is lost and they create confusion on those small screens.
    Where necessary the ThemeKit Active widgets have no animation on phones by default. It can be turned on for these devices if really necessary.

    About Perspective

    Perspective along with a bottom box shadow helps to create the illusion of depth in a web page layout. Perspective is often expressed in pixels but using viewport width units works better on responsive designs.
    The lower the value for perspective - the greater the effect. A value of zero will remove it completely.

      EverWeb

      At the time of writing EverWeb cannot render static items with perspective corectly so some trial and error is required to get used to creating the desired effect. An item may look pretty weird on the EverWeb design canvas but will spring to life when previewed in the browser.
