Image Galleries

Inserting an image grid with more than about a dozen thumbnails tends to overpower the visitor and creates a lot of extra scrolling for those using a tablet or smart phone.
Inserting a gallery grid with more than about a dozen images compromises the page download time in the browser although lazy loading does help.
Thumbnail images must be reduce to about 75KB and less is good. Slideshow images don't need to have a file size any wider than 1200px and should be optimised to get their size down to under 200KB.

Although the ThemeKit Gallery widgets pack has a couple of items that do allow more than one gallery per page without overloading it with images it is much better to stick to one per page with no more than 12 images.
When creating a photo site for a photographer, artist, designer etc it is much better to have a gallery menu page or perhaps a filter grid if the number of galleries is six or less and the number of images per gallery is moderate.

Show More/Less

This grid sets the number of slides to show on load and the number of slides per click of the "*show" button.
Clicking the "less" button will remove all but the on load images.
Grid
The grid has controls for setting the number of items per row for each device type. The images have an option to add a border and there are controls grid gap and padding.
Captions
The captions are inserted below the images and can run to two or more lines.
Action Tabs
The tabs have fields for entering the text and can be styled as standard or CTA style links with or without a border.
