Responsive Images
The professional appraoch to creating a website is to get all the images in a folder so that they can be resized and optimised before importing into EverWeb.
Full width or content width images nedd to be inserted in at least two sizes for computer and mobile devices. Inserting a small square or portrait image too will give a better viewing experience on phones.
DO NOT
Insert an image in an EverWeb shape. The image will be inserted as a background image which means it can't have al text for the search engines and screen readers.
Image Size
Images need to be resized to the actual max width that they will appear at in the browser. There's little point in inserting an image 2000px wide when it will be display at 800px wide.
- Lightbox slider images no wider than 1200px
- Content images no wider than 800px unless a smaller mobile image is inserted too
@2x Retina Images
Inserting @2x "retina" images is pointless and adversely effects the page download time - easpecially on mobile devices.
