Rather than cram all the required items into one widget the header on this page uses two - ThemeKit Row Logo Phone and the ThemeKit Row Hero Links.
Both widgets have the same background color gradient and angle so that they appear as one item when viewed in the browser. The hero widget has a clipped bottom edge to add some interest and space to the page design.
Essential Items

Heading

It should be highly visible on page load, surrounded by "white" space and have descriptive keywords.
Navigation
The best type of navigation for encouraging visitors to browse to other pages of the website has vertical stacked links, is positioned on the right and appears in view on page load.
The navigation used here has an option to add a synbol to the links to make them more distinctive. The optional spam protected email link his its own icon.
