Image InfoThemeKit Sliders
A slideshow for a responsive website needs quite a few essential feaures to make it suitable for both computers and mobile devices.
- All the images must be correctly sized and optimised before importing into EverWeb
- Insert the image in at least two size for computer and mobile devices
- Images must have a lazy load function if they are not in the viewport at page load
- The more images a slideshow has - the more they need to be lazy loading
- In general a slideshow should not have much more than about 12 images
- Image links need to be indicated by an icon on mobile devices
Popular Sliders
Most of the popular jQuery slideshows like Galleria, Slick and Swiper are not suitable for responsive web pages without modifications to the HTML and stylesheets.
Some of the ThemeKit Sliders widgets do use Slick & Swiper but they have been modified to allow them to insert the images in more than one size, to add a lazy loading function to all the images - main, mobile and phone - and all the not required styles removed from the minified stylesheets.
