Animation like any other effect should be used sparingly to draw attention to items without causing confusion and irritation.
Mobile Phones
Apart from the hero item at the top of the page animation should be avoided on mobile phones in most cases.
The animated widgets in this section have the option to fire the animation only once or every time the item enters the viewport.
If adding animation for phones is appropriate it can be turned on by checking a box.
The duration of the effect is importan. If it is short it will detract from the user experience and - in some cases - cause motion sickness.
The ThemeKit EZ animations are similar to those used by the EverWeb default animation although somewhat more efficient and classy.
Items that animated when they appear in the viewport are out of the visitors control.
Animation that occurs on scroll puts the visitor in charge and results in a better experience.
