ThemeKit Double Slider
This hero slideshow checks most of the boxes for an effecient, fast loading, memorable and entertaining on load in viewport item.
Images
Each slide has four images. Three to create the responsive slideshow stage and the other for animating in with a caption.
The demo images are 1200 x 800px, 720 x 480 px, and 375 x 667px for the stage images and 480 x 480px for the animated images.
The animated images do have a control for setting the maximum width. They also have options for adding a border and/or a box shadow.
Animation
Each slide has a choice of fifteen animation types with the animation time and delay being set globally.
Controls
The optional pager is centered at the bottom and can be hidden on mobile devices by setting a suitable breakpoint.
The directional arrows have a control to adjust their color and both previous and next are positioned together at the bottom right where they should be.
The arrows can also be hidden below the selected breakpoint to be replaced b swiping on touch devices.
Captions
The more observamt will have notice the "Apple" icon which precedes the caption. This is inserted in an HTML <span> using the appropriate HTML symbol like this …

The animated images can be configured as links to internal/external pages and have a new window option.
